A final journey to the brink
Of a dying liquid body
Evaporating into the air
Waters sinking into time

An abyss so fathomless
For mighty ships and destroyers
To navigate and cut the waves
With horrible treasures blessed

All the rain in the world
And the mountains of bitter salt
No longer enough to bring life
To the hopes of ancient tales

The light of beacons has dimmed
Noble towers left silently forgotten
Shamans from shores have adjourned
Knowledge discarded as rumour

The old seaman weeps inside
Deep in quiet thoughts
Stroking the grey beard
Diving deeper into the past


He travels behind the curtain
With the crystal gaze of the mind
To once more stand on the deck
Of the bride now resting in peace

Embittered by the memories
Of what proudly used to shine
The seaman lower descends
And drifts further from this world

A talisman of vengeance
Firmly tied around the neck
Mind reaching for higher seas
Old eyes soaring within

Plunging into the blue
To stand with the father of time
Slippery cliffs shining behind
In moon's pale glimmer

Now with the legends sleeping
The tired wanderer has found his home
In sorrowful dreams weeping
Yet a withering hope lives on
